Here is your full text forecast:

This is going to be more of a storm update regarding late tonight into tomorrow morning and also touching on tomorrow. So let’s jump right in! First of all, temps will only drop to the low 70s and the dewpoints are going to remain high. That’s going to maintain the strength of the line of storms that is expected. There are some differences with the models on what may or may not happen though. The 18z hires NAM shows a beast of a line to roll through. The latest HRRR takes the line of storms over Lake Michigan before they pretty much reach us. The latest RAP model is agreeing with the HRRR. So how do I forecast this? I’m going to side with caution here and forecast as if the NAM will become true and HOPE the other models come true. The NAM suggest a line of strong to severe storms will sweep through starting at about 1am for Central Wisconsin and will sweep through our area between 2-3am and be out of the area by sunrise. This line will have all modes of severe weather with it. Damaging winds is a huge threat followed by tornadoes and also torrential rainfall rates. We could see 1-2″ of rain in a very short period. Some hail may be possible as well. These types of lines can spin up tornadoes within the line. IF tornadoes do happen, they will be rain wrapped and impossible to see. This line of storms is also going to be moving at a very fast clip. All storms will be gone by sunrise.

 

What: Strong to severe line of storms 65% chance of being severe. With the models being all wonky I’m not entirely sure what happens.

When: After midnight and before sunrise.

Type: Severe winds(75+mph), tornadoes, some small hail, and torrential rainfall

Severe level: Most of the area is under an ENHANCED RISK which is level 3 out of 5. Map included below.

 

Summary: Strong to severe storms are expected during the overnight with the main threat being damaging straight line winds. Storms will move in after midnight and leave the area by sunrise. Some tornadoes are possible within this line. This line will also feature very heavy rainfall and we could see a quick inch or 2 in a short time. PLEASE have other sources to get warnings besides my page. I will be trying to sleep and unfortunately I don’t have someone manning the page during 3rd shift LOL. This is shaping up to be a rough night. Straight line winds can be worse than tornadoes if the line is strong enough.

 

 

Tomorrow is looking VERY hot and sticky with temps in the upper 80s to near 90. Dewpoints will be in the mid 70s which will make it feel more like to the mid to upper 90s. We will have to get through some morning clouds though. Maybe they will hang around longer and it won’t get so damn hot! Storms are possible for far Southern WI with a more likely chance happening in Illinois.
