Good evening Southern Wisconsin! Well we saw our first snowflakes of the season today and tomorrow we will see our first accumulating snow for some of the area. Tonight we will see those scattered snow showers, but no accumulation is expected. Lows tonight will drop to near 30 degrees. West winds 11-16mph with gusts to 25-30mph.
Tomorrow morning gets interesting for most of us. East of Madison that is. A band of moderate to heavy snowfall is possible over the eastern half of Southern Wisconsin. A swath of 2-4″ is likely with isolated amounts up to 5″ possible. The morning snow may transition to more of a mix by about noon and then possibly all rain by the afternoon hours when temps warm up to the low 40s. Any snow that does fall should melt pretty quickly, but you will see the plows and salters out there to clear the roads. Another main feature will be the winds! West winds sustained at 21-26mph with gusts to 40-45mph could create very hazardous visibilities at times with the heavier snow bands. Cloudy tomorrow night with lows in the mid to upper 30s. NW winds 16-21mph with gusts to 30-35mph. Most of the snow should be melted away by Friday morning.
Friday is looking cloudy and warmer with highs in the mid 40s and that will melt the remaining snow. NW winds 11-16mph with gusts to 20-25mph. Cloudy at night with temps in the low 30s.
We may see a little sunshine on Saturday with highs in the mid 40s once again. Light winds. Cloudy at night with temps in the low 30s and light winds.
Cloudy and still warm on Sunday with highs in the mid 40s. Slight chance for some rain showers Sunday night as temps drop to the mid 30s.
There’s a potential for a system to impact the region near Thanksgiving. If you have travel plans in the state Wednesday or Thursday you may want to keep an eye on the weather. Still unsure of the precip type around here. It keeps going back and forth between rain and snow. It’s going to be quite chilly for hunting week though!
