Good evening Southern Wisconsin! Happy Thursday night! It’s going to be another bitterly cold night out there under clear skies. Temps will fall to around 0 or even just below 0. Winds will be light, so wind chills won’t be an issue.
Sunny and still cold tomorrow with highs near 20. Light winds. Cloudy tomorrow night with temps rising from the mid teens to the mid 20s by morning. SE winds 4-9mph.
Saturday morning we will see precipitation move into the area. The precip type depends on when it starts. If it starts early enough in the morning, then we could see some snow or freezing rain at onset. If it starts by late morning, then we could see mostly rain with some snow mixed in. Any mixed precip will change to straight rain by noon once the temps warm up. Highs on Saturday will be near 40 degrees. SE winds 7-12mph. If the precip starts at snow, we could see a little accumulation, but that will melt off quickly. I’m a little worried about the ice accumulations west of Madison as the precip should start earlier over that way. Maybe a winter weather advisory type of ice situation that way. Rain will end Saturday night and we will stay cloudy with temps in the mid 30s. Light winds overnight. Total rainfall up to a quarter inch.
