Good evening Southern Wisconsin! It was a pretty quiet weather weekend after an exciting end to last week. We have more weather to talk about tonight. It’s not going to amount to much, but these are the types of events that causes the most accidents. People see drizzle as no big deal until it turns into ice and they’re in the ditch! Tonight we will be cloudy to start, then some freezing drizzle or light snow is possible after midnight and more towards tomorrow morning. Lows will drop to the upper 20s, so anything that does fall will freeze. South winds 7-12mph.
That chance for freezing drizzle and light snow will continue into the morning hours and will impact the morning commute to work. Allow for extra time in the morning. Highs will rise to the mid 30s and when that happens the drizzle may not freeze to the surfaces and we should have plenty of salt down by then anyway. South winds 6-11mph will change to the NW with the cold front. Cloudy and dry tomorrow night with temps in the mid 20s and the winds will become light.
Christmas eve is looking dry, but cloudy with temps in the mid 30s. Cloudy at night with temps near 30 and calm winds. Santa should be okay for flying around here.
Christmas Day is looking cloudy with temps in the mid 30s and a slight chance for afternoon light rain or sprinkles. Light winds. Cloudy at night with temps in the low to mid 30s. Calm winds.
Thursday is cloudy and warmer with highs near 40 degrees. Light winds. Slight chance for afternoon sprinkles or light showers. Cloudy with a chance for light rain at night with temps in the mid 30s.
Friday is looking even more warm with temps in the upper 40s. Chance for rain continues. Chance of rain continues at night with temps in the low 40s.
The weekend is looking warm and possibly wet. Temps near 50 on Saturday and the mid 40s on Sunday. Yuck! The pattern looks to flip again just after the New Year!
