Good evening Southern Wisconsin! Moderate to heavy snow is still falling over portions of Central Dane County to Jefferson county to some of Waukesha county. These convective snow showers will persist into the overnight hours. We had 1-3″ this morning and can expect another 3-6″ from this afternoon into tomorrow morning. Some areas may flirt with over 6″. So this batch of snow is overachieving for some. Temps will drop to the low teens, so the salt won’t be as effective as it would with temps in the upper 20s. We also have to deal with some higher wind gusts that will cause blowing and drifting snow. We played the game of “am I on the road” tonight coming home. That was fun. Wind chills down to 0 tonight.

 

Snow will be likely in the morning, but should lighten up a bit. Cloudy for the remainder of the day with temps only flirting with 20 degrees. West winds 11-16mph could cause some blowing and drifting throughout the day. Cloudy and chilly tomorrow night with temps falling to near 5 degrees. West winds 7-12mph.

 

The first part of Sunday is looking dry with temps only in the upper teens. Snow is likely starting in the afternoon and ending in the evening. Another 1-2″ of snow from that batch. Cloudy and BRUTAL at night with temps dropping to -5 degrees. West winds 16-21mph with gusts to 25-30mph creating wind chills down to -30 or lower! EWWWWWW.

 

Martin Luther King Day is looking VERY cold with temps near 5 degrees. West winds 16-21mph with gusts to 25-30mph. Wind chills down to -20 to -30 all day. Maybe see a little sun. Another cold one is on tap at night with temps near -5.

 

More snow chances coming for Tuesday night into Wednesday and again towards the end of the week. It will be a chilly week! Roads could be crappy for awhile. The overall pattern for this month is looking snowier.
