SAM’S TEXT FORECAST WITH SASS:

Good afternoon/evening Southern Wisconsin! We have a very busy week ahead of us in the weather field. 2 days of possible severe weather. Let’s get into it. Tonight we should cloud over which will hold temps up to near 60. Some areas may stick to the low 60s. Winds will generally be light. There’s a chance some of the storms may squeak into Southern WI at or just before sunrise.

 

Tomorrow morning we should see a line of strong to severe storms and then another batch of storms for tomorrow afternoon in to the evening. There is a SLIGHT risk or level 2 over far SE areas of Wisconsin for tomorrow and a MARGINAL risk or level 1 for everyone else. Storm chances should end around sunset. The main threats would be gusty winds and hail. The tornado threat remains low at this time. Temps should still make it to around 80 degrees. If we see some sunshine between the two rounds of storms that may make things more unstable. Rainfall amounts will vary a lot. Those that see 2 rounds of storms may see over an inch of rain. Those that see 1 round will be an inch or less. Rainfall amounts in pretty difficult with these setups. Stay weather aware tomorrow. SE winds tomorrow at 11-16mph. Higher gusts with storms. The big threat of storms will end in the evening, but there’s a chance for storms through about midnight. Cloudy after that and very mild with temps in the low 60s for lows.

 

Tuesday is likely going to be dangerous for some. The SPC has an ENHANCED RISK or level 3 threat for area west of say Waterloo and and SLIGHT RISK or level 2 threat for everyone else. We will have to keep a very close eye on the situation. With that being said, I will likely be staying home due to the threat of severe weather at home. We will have to see. I’ll make the final call tomorrow morning. We could see some storms in the morning and the big threat would come from 3pm to 9pm. If you have evening plans on Tuesday, I would THINK about canceling them, but don’t do it just yet. Tornadoes, very large hail, and high damaging winds are possible. Temps should make the low 80s and if we can tap into the sunshine it would really get things going. I am not telling you all thing to scare the crap out of you. The models right now are showing some pretty violent weather for Tuesday. We may see a few rounds of storms. Rainfall amounts will vary a lot, but 1-3″ of rain is possible over the heavier areas. Storms will end by midnight. We will then get very windy as the storm pulls away from the area.

 

Wednesday through Friday look to be fairly quiet and comfortable again. A more active weather pattern is setting up for Memorial Day weekend.
