Good evening Southern Wisconsin! We are missing out on a clipper system today and tonight that went south of the state and on Sunday into Monday we will miss out on a major winter storm that’s going to be well south of the state. There’s really no snow in the forecast and the extreme cold that was projected really isn’t there for us, but the south could see some mighty cold conditions. I think the coldest we get is the mid to upper teens for highs which isn’t bad. Lows in the single digits above zero. Good ice making weather! Tonight we will be cloudy with temps in the low teens. NW winds 8-13mph.
Friday is looking sunny and colder with temps near 20 degrees. NW winds 11-16mph with gusts to 20-25mph. Clear at night with temps in the single digits above zero. NW winds 11-16mph. Wind chills down to -10.
Sunny and cold on Saturday with temps in the upper teens for highs. NW winds 6-11mph. A couple clouds at night with temps in the single digits. Light NW winds.
More clouds than sunshine on Sunday as a large storm system will get cranking to the south of us. Cloudy at night with temps in the low teens. North winds 6-11mph.
That large storm system will pass to the south on Monday and MAY bring on some lake effect snow showers near Lake Michigan. It all depends on the track of the storm. A further southern shift would take away that threat. IF lake effect does happen, it would be from Milwaukee and south with a couple inches possible. Temps will be in the mid 20s on Monday with north winds 6-11mph.
The rest of the week looks cold and quiet. That storm system will bring in another wave of cold air from Canada. Highs by mid week will be in the mid to upper teens.
