Good evening Southern Wisconsin! Happy weekend! Did we all make it through Friday the 13th without issues? It will be cloudy tonight with temps rising to the mid 20s by morning after starting out in the mid teens. East winds 3-8mph.

 

Precipitation will move in during the morning hours from west to east. The latest hires NAM model really delays the precip for SC and SE WI though. The precip reaches Madison by about 3pm per that model and the rest of the area by 3-6pm. I guess we will have to wait and see on this system. It has really cut down on the snow totals for west of Madison and mainly shoots the snow north with 1-2″ of snow expected north of Madison. Madison could see a little freezing rain though and expecting 0.01 to 0.05″ of a glaze of ice. SW Wisconsin could see up to 0.10″ to 0.2″ of ice and are currently in a winter weather advisory. Anything over 0.25″ of ice gets an ice storm warning. The latest nam drops 0.37″ of ice over far SW portions of the state. I wouldn’t be shocked if that area gets in on the warning action. For the rest of us east of Madison, we could see a mix of snow and rain at onset, but quickly changing to rain and no issues expected at this time. Of course things can change. These types of systems can play tricks on us. Precip should end by about 8pm for most areas. Rainfall amounts generally under a quarter inch are expected. Winds on Saturday will be 11-16mph from the SE and simmering down in the evening.

 

Cloudy on Sunday with temps in the low to maybe mid 40s. Slight chance for rain in the morning. Cloudy at night with temps in the mid to upper 30s with a slight chance for some rain late at night.

 

Monday also looks warm, but with some light rain possible. We start to cool down on Tuesday and pretty much dry for the remainder of the week.
