Good morning Wisconsinites! Happy Saturday! There’s been some changes in the forecast for today as temps are actually trending downwards. We are in the mid 20s now and the models are showing the temps only reaching the lower mid 30s now. 33-35ish. We’ve also had a stretch of very cold temps and the pavement temps are well below freezing as well. The precip will move into the area sometime between 2-4pm for most of us. The latest HRRR model shows a quick burst of snow followed by some sleet and freezing rain and then changing over to plain rain. This is a tricky set up and travel could become impactful. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for everyone except the lakeshore area counties. The pavement temps are still pretty warm there plus the slightly warmer temps will help keep most of it as rain. The advisory runs from 9am to midnight for areas west of Madison. Noon to midnight for Madison and north and south. 3pm to midnight for the rest of us that are in the advisory. If you plan to travel when the precip starts, PLEASE take it easy. If you can, please get your traveling done before this precip begins. Rain is expected later tonight, but again we shall see on those temps. Winds might be an issue if we get some icing out there. East 11-16mph with gusts to 25-30mph. A light icing mixed with some winds may cause a couple power outages.

 

Warmer temps are coming for Sunday and also Monday, but more rain is expected.
