Good morning Wisconsinites! Happy hump day! Snow should break out around Southern Wisconsin by 9-10am and maybe a tickle later for areas to the NE. Snow may get heavy during the afternoon and early evening hours. Snow should wrap up by midnight or so. Highs today will be in the upper teens to near 20 degrees. We will see a cold snow which will mean higher snow ratios. 4-6″ looks great for most areas and 6-8″ for the lakeshore counties that see lake enhancement snows. NE winds today of 4-9mph with a couple higher gusts possible. North winds 11-16mph tonight, so blowing and some drifting back onto the roads is likely. Temps will drop to the single digits, so road salt will be very hard to activate.
Thursday and Thursday night we will be quiet. It’ll be a good day to get the first round of snow removed. Temps will only be in the mid teens during the day and minus single digits at night. Treated salt will work great, but rock salt won’t. The sun angle should help. Clouds in the morning will lead to sun late in the day.
Next chance for snow comes in Friday afternoon with temps in the mid 20s. Snow will continue into Friday night and will linger into Saturday morning. Temps on Saturday will be near 30 degrees, so this will be a bit of a more moist snow and heavier to shovel. I can’t give out totals right now, but several more inches are likely.
